With the opening of Port Isaac Road Station in 1895 a new industry evolved in Port Isaac. By the time the station closed in 1966 tourism was thriving and most visitors to the village came in their cars; some even flew – in 1962 commercial flights between London and Newquay started. Today visitors flock to the village throughout most of the year.
