John (Jack) Hamilton Thomas

Trooper 7912387 John (Jack) Hamilton Thomas served in 50th Royal Tank Regiment, Royal Armoured Corps. He was killed 27th July 1942 aged 29 during operation manhood in North Africa. He is commemorated on the Alamein Memorial. He was the son of Charles Couch Thomas and Elizabeth Thomas of Chudleigh, Devon (formerly Port Isaac) and is also commemorated on his father’s memorial in St Endellion Churchyard (Grave E 012).
